At the age of nine, she lost her mother to HIV/AIDS, becoming one of the millions of orphaned children in Sub-Saharan Africa. Despite growing up in material poverty, she found strength in her grandmother’s spiritual guidance, which instilled in her the ambition to rise above her circumstances. Her determination and academic excellence earned her a place in the inaugural class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG).
