Dutch football powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam has extended the contract of promising Ghanaian talent, Don-Angelo Konadu. The new contract for the 18-year-old forward will secure him at Ajax until June 2028, extending his previous agreement set to expire in 2025. Konadu has been a part of Ajax’s youth academy since 2014 and is widely regarded as one of the club’s most promising young talents.

Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, Konadu has drawn comparisons to Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus, who also rose to prominence at Ajax before moving to West Ham United in August 2023. Konadu’s growth and development through Ajax’s ranks have earned him recognition and frequent participation in first-team training sessions under head coach Francesco Farioli.

“Don-Angelo has developed tremendously over the past few years and is also making good progress this season with Ajax U23,” said Ajax’s Director of Football, Marijn Beuker, in a statement on the club’s official website. “We are very pleased with this contract extension and see in Don-Angelo a player with great potential to become a regular in the Ajax first team in the near future.”

Currently representing the Netherlands at the under-19 level, Konadu is also eligible to play for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, which could lead to future opportunities for him to represent his Ghanaian heritage on the international stage.
